Taurus. Crochet Mandala. Choosing Your Colors

When we pick colors for the Taurus mandala, we’re doing more than choosing a pretty palette. We’re telling a story — and this one continues right where Aries left off.

The seed that once dared to sprout has now taken root. It has gained strength, found its form, and begun to bear fruit. This is the story of Taurus: grounding, gathering, learning to hold what we’ve started.

Taurus is not just “earth.” It’s Venus — the planet of beauty, value, abundance, and sensual love. It’s the Moon in exaltation — deep emotional stability, care, connection to the body. It’s the ability to gather, to cherish, to enjoy.

The colors we choose are the layers of our story. And each of us will tell it in our own way.

We’ve put together a palette of 22 colors for you. You can choose only the shades that truly speak to you — no need to follow our combinations. And of course, you can add your own colors, even if they’re not on the list. There’s only one rule: choose with your heart.

To make it easier, we’ve grouped the colors by theme. Each group is a stage of the journey. Along with the color name, we’ve included its hex code — you can type it right into your browser’s search bar to see exactly what it looks like.

1. Earth. The foundation that holds everything

Everything begins with the earth. This is not the dark, heavy soil of Aries that had to be pushed through. This is fertile, warm, welcoming earth. The kind that gives support and nourishment.

Deep Brown (#5C4033) — roots reaching deep. The foundation itself.
Warm Umber (#8B5A2B) — mature, sun-warmed soil. Readiness to receive.
Golden Sand (#C2B280) — lightness, dryness, but not emptiness. Support that doesn’t press down.
Terracotta (#E2725B) — clay, warmth, form. Something you can shape.
Dark Khaki (#6B5E3A) — protective, calm. Earth that shelters.

2. Roots. What holds and nourishes

The sprout has sent out roots. They’re invisible from the surface, but they give strength to the entire plant. These are colors of deep connection to lineage, to the body, to the feeling “I have the right to be and to have.”

Deep Emerald (#1A4D3E) — depth of roots. Calm, mature strength.
Moss Green (#4A5B2E) — living, working earth. The process of nourishment.
Graphite (#4A4A4A) — stability. What doesn’t wobble.

3. Sap. The energy flowing within

Roots draw sap from the earth, and it rises through the stem. This is not the impulse of Aries, but a steady, confident movement — the gift of Venus: smooth, sensual, taking pleasure in the process.

Soft Olive (#A4B86C) — the beginning of movement. Sap rising through the stem.
Grass Green (#5A9E4E) — life itself. Fullness, juiciness.
Apple Green (#8DB600) — youth, freshness. The energy of growth.

4. Flesh. Form and fullness

The stem and leaves fill out, becoming dense and supple. These are colors of sensualitytangibilitycontact with the body — the gifts of Venus.

Ash Rose (#D3A99D) — tender flesh. The warmth of a living body.
Coral (#FF7F50) — life force, blood, pulse.
Peach (#FFDAB9) — softness, comfort, trust in one’s body.
Warm Beige (#F5DEB3) — calm, accepting form.

5. Abundance. Resource and sufficiency

Here Taurus reveals its strength. This is not just “fruit,” but the feeling of “I have enough. I have what I need. I can enjoy.” Venus at its best — beauty, value, abundance.

Honey (#F0A500) — sweetness, ripeness. The reward for patience.
Pumpkin (#B85C1A) — dense, weighty, earthy fruit.
Deep Gold (#B8860B) — mature, fully formed. A resource you can carry forward.
Plum (#A95C68) — depth, richness. Beauty that knows its worth.

6. Bloom. Beauty that needs no justification

The plant has gathered its strength and now it blooms. Not to impress anyone, but because this is the natural stage. These colors are about simple, earthly happiness, about seeing beauty in what already is.

Soft Pink (#F4C2C2) — first bloom. Modest, but pure beauty.
Dusty Rose (#C9A9A6) — wise, calm beauty. Without urgency.

7. The unexpected color. A bridge to the next sign

And now — a color you won’t find in the classic Taurus palette. But for us, it matters.

Sky Blue (#87CEEB).

Taurus has gathered, rooted, found form and abundance. And then a natural impulse arises: to share. To tell. To reach out.

This color leads us toward Gemini — the sign of encounter, contact, exchange. There, we’ll learn to listen, to speak, to give and receive. For now, it’s just a hint. A breath before the next step.

How to Build Your Own Palette

Now that you know what these colors are saying, try putting together your own story.

Here are a few questions to help:

— What does “grounding” mean for me right now? Where do I feel stability?
— What do I want to hold onto, gather, or build up in this cycle?
— Am I connected to my body? What color would express that?
— Am I ready to share what I have? What color speaks of that?

You can:

  • take as many colors as you like and create a rich, full mandala;
  • choose just one group if you want to focus on a specific stage;
  • build your own unique set based on what speaks to you right now;
  • add new colors that aren’t on this list — if your heart asks for them.

In the “12 Treasures of the Zodiac” project, there are no right or wrong answers. There’s only your path, your state of being, and your mandala.
