Taurus Mandala. The Treasure of Abundance

We took the first step. In Aries, the seed dared to sprout. It pushed through the heavy soil, sending out a tiny, vulnerable shoot. That was courage — to begin without knowing what waited above.

In Taurus, our story continues. The plant is no longer just pushing toward the light — it’s gathering strength. It needs power to bear abundant fruit. This is the time when the flower transforms into fruit. When the green fills with sap, and form becomes complete.

This is the space of Taurus.

What is Taurus?

In the zodiac circle, Taurus comes second. After the impulse of Aries, it’s time to hold, gather, and bring into form.

If Aries is “I want,” Taurus is “I have.” Not in the sense of ownership, but as an inner state: “I have enough. I have what I need. I can enjoy.”

Taurus is ruled by Venus — the planet of beauty, value, love, and pleasure. It’s also where the Moon is exalted, giving deep emotional stability, connection to the body, to lineage, to the feeling of home.

Here we learn not just to do, but to be. Not to rush, but to experience. Not to grasp for the new, but to appreciate what’s already here. And — to create form.

Taurus is a sculptor

Imagine: the flower has already opened. It’s beautiful, but still light, airy. Now a different kind of work begins. The plant fills with sap, grows dense, gathers strength. Slowly, the flower ripens into fruit.

This is not a fast process. It demands patience, time, trust.

In this, Taurus is like a sculptor. They take raw material — clay, stone, earth — and give it form, step by step. Slowly. With feeling. With love for the material.

In this mandala, we too will shape something. Not rushing. Layer by layer. So that by the end of this cycle, we hold in our hands not just a beautiful object, but embodied stability, fullness, abundance.

The shadow of Taurus: fear of loss

Every treasure has its guardian. For Taurus, it’s the fear of losing what we’ve gathered.

We’re so afraid that everything will be taken away that sometimes we prefer to have nothing at all. Or we cling to what no longer serves us, just to avoid feeling empty. Or we freeze in place, refusing to change, because any movement feels like a threat.

“What if I lose it? What if it ends? What if it’s not enough?”

This is the voice of the shadow. And in Taurus, we meet it. Not to defeat it, but to understand: true abundance is not what we hold in our hands. It’s what we can hold inside ourselves, even when the outer world shifts.

What we’ll experience in the Taurus mandala

Row by row, we’ll walk the path of gathering strength and shaping form:

Earth. The foundation. What everything rests upon. Here we find our ground.

Roots. Already there. They hold the plant and feed it. This is our connection to the body, to lineage, to the feeling of “I have a right to be here.”

Sap. The energy flowing within. A steady, confident movement. Not a leap — a flow. The plant gathers power.

Flesh. Form, fullness. We learn to feel our own boundaries, our density, our worth. Like a sculptor, we give shape to the material.

Abundance. The fruit ripens. We understand: “I have enough. I have what I need. I can enjoy.” This is not the end, but the result of long, patient work.

Bloom. We already passed through bloom in Aries. Here, in Taurus, bloom is not the main event. What matters is what comes after: the filling, the ripening, the becoming of fruit.

And then we realize something really important. Once we’ve learned what abundance is, a natural impulse arises: to share. To tell. To reach out. To give what has ripened. This is how Gemini calls us.

How to work with the Taurus mandala. Tips for meditation

We’ll crochet this mandala for about a month — as long as the Sun stays in Taurus. Time enough to slow down and live through each stage.

Here are a few ideas to turn your crochet into a dialogue with yourself:

Tune into your body. Before you begin, close your eyes. Feel your feet on the floor. Notice how your body sits. Ask yourself: “Where do I feel grounded right now? Where do I feel unsteady?”

Choose colors you want to “taste.” Earthy tones, skin colors, honey, rose — all feel right for Taurus. But if your heart asks for bright blue or deep emerald, take them. Ask: “Why this color? What does it tell me about my body, my resources?”

Crochet slowly. Taurus doesn’t rush. Try pausing between rows. Just hold your work. Look at it. Feel its texture. This is part of the process too.

Ask yourself questions. What does “stability” mean to me right now? What have I gathered in this cycle? Where do I feel safe? What do I want to hold onto — and what am I ready to release?

Give thanks. When you finish a row or the whole mandala, sit with it in silence. Silently thank yourself for the time you gave yourself. And for allowing yourself simply to be — unhurried, uncompared, without needing to prove anything.

One more little secret

Taurus lives in each of us. Even if your Sun sign is Gemini or Sagittarius, somewhere inside lives this ability: to gather, to shape, to value, to enjoy.

In this project, we’re not learning to be “good Taureans.” We’re simply living this piece of the journey. So that later, after walking the full circle, we can return to it with new depth.

May your mandala be more than a beautiful object. May it become an embodiment of your abundance. Something you can hold in your hands and know: this is mine. I made this. I can hold this.

And when the time comes, you might want to share this abundance. With someone. With the world. Because that’s how life works: what ripens, wants to be given.

This is the treasure of Taurus.

And now — about colors

We’ve prepared a separate guide to the 22 colors for the Taurus mandala. There we explore each group: earth, roots, sap, flesh, abundance, bloom, and the unexpected color — the bridge to Gemini.
