Crochet baby girl blanket with 3D flowers “Dancing Flowers”

For a 58×76 cm / 23×30 inches size baby girl blanket you will need:

Weight 4, worsted yarn: Purple 55 m / 60 yards, Orchid 137 m / 150 yards, White 202 m / 221 yards, Mint 460 m / 503 yards.

Hook: 5 mm

Start with crochet granny squares. For this blanket, you will need 12 squares. Free pattern HERE

Abbreviations:  st – stitch, ch – chain, sc – single crochet

Add additional ROUND 10. Join with a standing sc in a corner ch1 space (R10.1), *sc in next 2 sts (R10.2), (ch3, sc in next 3 sts (R10.3)) 5 times, ch3, sc in next 2 sts, in ch1 space (sc, ch3, sc, ch3, sc) (R10.4)*, repeat ** 4 times, omit last sc, join to standing sc with a sl-st, fasten off, and secure ends.

JOIN SQUARES

Put squares right sides together

sc in two corresponding corner ch3 spaces together (which are closer to the side along which you will be joining), *ch3, sc in next two corresponding ch3 spaces together* repeat ** 7 times, ch3,

sc in two corresponding corner ch3 spaces together of next 2 squares, * ch3, sc in next two corresponding ch3 spaces together* , repeat 7 times.

Continue and join all squares this way.

BORDER. Join with a standing sc in any 2nd ch3 square made in any corner , *(2dc in 2nd sc, sc in next ch3 space) 7 times,

dc in 2nd sc made in corner, sc in 2nd sc made in corner of next square, sc in ch3 space*, repeat ** as many times as needed. In corner, in 2nd sc made in corner (dc, ch2, dc).

Repeat around. Join to standing sc with a sl-st, fasten off, and secure ends.

Join with a standing dc in any corner ch2 space, dc in all sts, 4dc in corner ch2 space. Repeat around, omit last dc, join to standing dc with a sl-st, fasten off, and secure ends.
