Abbreviations: st – stitch, sl-st – slip stitch, ch – chain, sc – single crochet, hdc – half double crochet, dc – double crochet, tr – treble crochet, fp – front post, bp – back post, tbl – third back loop, sc2tog – Insert hook into 1st indicated stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, 2 loops on hook, repeat to 2nd stitch. 3 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops, clusters of 3tr – Yarn over twice, insert hook into indicated stitch or space, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops twice. Repeat two more in same stitch or space. 4 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull though all 4 loops
ROUND 38 (Color C). Join with a standing sc2tog over any two sc, *fpsc around next st of round 37 (puff st), (2dc in bpsc of round 36, skip next st of round 37(bpdc), fpsc around next st of round 37(puff st)(R38.1)) 7 times, sc2tog over next 2 sts (two sc)(R38.2)*, repeat ** 20 times, omit last sc2tog. Join to standing sc2tog with a sl-st. Do not fasten off. (R38.3) Stitch count: 20 sc2tog, 160 fpsc, 280 dc
ROUND 39 (Color C). ch4 (R39.1)(does not count as stitch), cluster of 3tr in same st (R39.2), *ch3, sc in next 22 sts, ch3, cluster of 3tr in next st (R39.3)*, repeat ** 20 times, omit last cluster of 3tr. Join to 1st cluster of 3tr with a sl-st, fasten off, and secure ends. Place a marker in the cluster of 3tr made over the marked st of the 33rd round. *Skip the next 4 clusters of 3tr and mark the next one*, repeat ** 3 times. You will have 4 marked clusters. These stitches are your corner stitches. For the next 5 rounds, each time place a marker in the stitch made around or in the marked stitch. (R39.4)
