Abbreviations: st – stitch, sl-st – slip stitch, ch – chain, sc – single crochet, hdc – half double crochet, dc – double crochet, tr – treble crochet, dtr – double treble crochet, fp – front post, bp – back post, bl – back loop, tbl – third back loop, popcorn – 5dc in same st, remove hook from loop and insert from front to back of 1st dc and into a dropped loop and pull through. To close popcorn ch 1. Ch 1 counts as a part of popcorn st, clusters of 2tr – yarn over twice, insert hook into indicated stitch or space, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops twice. Repeat once more in the same stitch or space. 3 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops,
ROUND 1 (Color A). Slip knot (R1.1), ch4 (R1.2), insert hook into 1st chain (R1.3), yarn over and pull through to form a ring (R1.4), ch2 (does not count)(R1.5), 16dc into the ring. Join to 1st dc with a sl-st, fasten off, and secure ends. (R1.6)

ROUND 2 (Color B). Join with a standing fpdc around any dc, *ch1, bpdc around next st, ch1, fpdc around next st (R2.1)*, repeat ** 8 times, omit last fpdc. Join to standing fpdc with a sl-st, fasten off, and secure ends. (R2.2)
Stitch count: 8 fpdc, 8 bpdc, 16 ch1 spaces
ROUND 3 (Color C). Put markers in every second fpdc, 4 markers in total (R3.1). Remove markers as you work.
